The patient signs on a tablet, new Datecs cash registers, the layout follows the device

This update is mainly for medical practices working with NHIS: the patient now signs the outpatient sheet on a tablet, and examination search finally works by NRN alone. Plus support for the new Datecs cash register series, a better layout on small laptops, and several fixes in sales and reports.

✨ In short​

  • The patient signs the outpatient sheet on a connected tablet at "Close in HIS". The signature appears on the printed sheet.
  • If the patient declines or the tablet does not respond, the examination is closed without a signature — the signature never blocks closing.
  • "Search examinations" now works by NRN, by patient name, or by part of the data. Until now it demanded all four fields at once.
  • A result opens in a full view of the examination exactly as NHIS returns it.
  • The "E-Examination" screen follows the order of the actual work, and a closed examination is now locked for editing.
  • The desktop app works with the Datecs X and MX series cash registers too — DP-150MX, DP-150X, DP-25X, WP-50X, FP-700X, FMP-350X and the others in those series.
  • A small laptop now shows the computer layout instead of the phone one.
  • Daily reports are grouped by your own day, not by UTC.

🖊️ NHIS: the patient signs on a tablet​

At "Close in HIS" the patient can sign the outpatient sheet on a connected signature tablet instead of on paper. The signature goes onto the printed outpatient sheet, in the patient column.

For this to work you need a Windows computer with the desktop application, the Wacom signature software installed and a tablet connected. It is verified on a Wacom STU-430.

You select the device once on every computer, from "Integrations" → "HIS" → "Patient signature device", where you pick "Manufacturer" and "Model". The choice is stored on that computer only, because one location can have several rooms with different tablets.

When the examination is open, you see one of two lines at the top:

  • "When you close the examination, the patient will sign it on the connected tablet." — everything is ready;
  • "A signature pad is connected, but no device is selected on this computer." — with a "Select device" link.

If a parent or guardian signs, switch on "The signer is different from the patient (parent/guardian)" and fill in their data.

The signature never stops the closing. On "The patient declined to sign" or "The signature pad is not responding" you choose "Try again" or "Close without signature". With the second one the examination is closed normally and the patient signs the printed sheet, as before.

🔎 NHIS: examination search is finally usable​

Until now "Search examinations" demanded an identifier type, an identifier, a date and an employee all at once, and there was no NRN field at all. The most common case — a doctor holding an NRN from a referral — had no path through the form.

Now the only required field is "Searching as" — the specialist on whose behalf you ask NHIS. After that:

  • you search by "NRN" for a direct hit — when you fill it in, the other fields are not used;
  • or you combine whatever you have of "Identifier type", "Identifier", "Name", "Lastname" and "Date";
  • you can search by patient name alone, for when no document is at hand;
  • the identifier can contain letters, so passports and personal foreigner numbers go through.

The date is no longer prefilled with today — until now it silently hid every older examination.

The new "Open" button next to a result shows the whole examination as NHIS returns it — diagnoses and comorbidities, medical history, objective condition with findings and diagnostic reports, therapy, consultations, sick leaves and issued documents.

🩺 NHIS: an ordered screen and a locked closed examination​

The "E-Examination" screen follows the order of the actual work: "Patient information", "Examination and specialist", "Medical history", "Objective condition", "Primary diagnosis", "Therapy". The NHIS state and the actions sit at the top instead of below a long scroll.

  • Once the examination is open, the patient data block collapses to a single line.
  • The buttons at the bottom now say what they do: "Save", "Save and open in HIS", "Close in HIS", "Download outpatient sheet".
  • A closed or voided examination is locked for editing — the screen reads "The examination is closed and can no longer be edited."

Closing now requires "Clinical status", "Verification status" and "First manifestation of symptoms" on the diagnosis. That is an NHIS requirement, and it is now checked before the signing step, not after the patient has already signed and you have worked through the certificate dialog.

Refusals from NHIS when closing are now shown on the screen. Until now a genuine refusal could sink without a trace and the form looked frozen.

🧾 Fiscal devices: Datecs X and MX series​

The desktop application now works with the Datecs X and MX series cash registers as well: DP-150MX, DP-150X, DP-25X, WP-50X, FP-700X, FMP-350X and the other models in those series.

The device is detected automatically when you scan — you do not pick a series manually. Support is verified on a real Datecs DP-150MX for a fiscal receipt with a discount, a duplicate and a reversal.

💻 The layout now follows the device, not the width alone​

Until now the layout switched on window width alone, and every laptop below 1200 pixels got the phone layout — bottom tabs, full-window screens and lists instead of tables. A 1366×768 laptop at 125% Windows scaling lands exactly there.

Now the way you drive the device decides:

  • phone and tablet — always the mobile layout, whatever the width;
  • computer and laptop with a mouse and keyboard — the computer layout, unless the window becomes narrower than 992 pixels;
  • the desktop application — always the computer layout.

If you resize the window far enough for the layout to change, you get "The window size changed. Tap to reload and switch the layout." If you do not tap it, you stay in the current layout and do not lose a half-filled appointment or sale.

In the same change, modal windows no longer collapse at medium widths, the side menu starts folded below 1200 pixels, and the filter bar above tables stays in place.

📊 Reports are grouped by your own day​

Daily reports grouped and filtered by the UTC day rather than the business day. Because of that, records from the hours around midnight landed in the neighbouring day. Clients, Commissions, Inventory and "Online visits" in Online appointment reports were affected.

All daily reports now group and filter by the business day, the way you see it.

In the same direction: dates in the application are now read as they are written, rather than against the computer's time zone. This affects voucher validity, the client's date of birth, the payment date, the invoice date and the dates in report tables. Until now, opening and saving a voucher or a sale instalment could shift the date on every save.

🔍 Result order in the Marketplace​

The order of results in the Marketplace has been reworked. Until now it was dominated by the amount topped up in the wallet. Now several things weigh together:

  • client ratings — now downwards too, but one or two extreme reviews cannot move the order;
  • actual demand relative to the number of active employees;
  • how complete the profile is — address, map point, phone, description and photos;
  • requiring online payment at booking, and the monthly spend on the account;
  • new locations get a temporary boost so they do not start from zero;
  • locations with a high share of bookings cancelled by the business move down.

The order is recalculated every night, so changes to your profile show up the next day.

🛠️ Fixes​

  • Editing a row in a sale no longer removes the discount, tax, membership or employee that the system applied on its own. Until now they were saved as deliberately removed. The save button now waits for the recalculation to finish.
  • A deactivated discount on a sale row is now visible in the field. Until now the field came up empty and saving removed the discount.
  • A sale where a voucher row carries a discount no longer produces an error.
  • A change in the subscription plan now takes effect immediately. Until now a purchased or stopped capability could linger for up to six minutes.
  • The calendar invite in emails is now attached even when the location has no map coordinates set.
  • Messages about an empty required field say which field it is again.

✅ What to do​

  1. If you work with NHIS and want tablet signatures, select the device on every computer with a tablet from "Integrations" → "HIS" → "Patient signature device".
  2. Tell your specialists that closing now requires "Clinical status", "Verification status" and "First manifestation of symptoms" on the diagnosis inside the examination itself.
  3. If you have a Datecs X or MX series cash register, connect it and run "Scan devices".
  4. If you work on a small laptop, open Business again — you will get the computer layout.
  5. If you rely on Marketplace visibility, fill in the address, the map point, the phone, the description and the photos of the location.
