Memberships

This section covers two different but related topics:

  • membership plans — what you sell;
  • issued memberships — what has already been sold to specific clients.

How the section is organized

When to use which page

  • If you want to create or change a template, start with Membership plans.
  • If you are looking for the exact steps for selling a membership or creating a personal membership, open Selling memberships.
  • If you want to review, edit, activate, or deactivate an already sold membership, open Issued memberships.

Important distinction

  • A plan defines validity, usage type, services, restrictions, and price.
  • An issued membership is a concrete instance of that plan for a specific client.
  • An issued membership has one owner, but when needed it can also be shared with other clients.
  • There can also be personal memberships that are not linked to a central plan but still follow the same operational flow.

In short:

  • if you are selling a standard membership, you first create a plan;
  • in "Sale", you either select an existing plan or create a personal membership;
  • after the sale is saved, the system creates an issued membership for the client;
  • then you work with the issued membership itself: usage, active state, history, and editing.

Where and how memberships are created

This section is about client memberships. If you are looking for the business subscription to Reservation.Studio, see Platform billing.

  • You create a plan from the main menu "Memberships" -> "Membership plans" through "Create membership plan".
  • An issued membership from a plan is created after a saved sale where you selected an existing plan in the "Memberships" tab.
  • A personal membership is created only from "Sale" through "Add Items for sale" -> "Memberships" tab -> "Create personal membership".

The full step-by-step procedure for both flows is in Selling memberships.
