Package services
This page is about package services. They are a separate service type and work differently from single and group services. The common service fields are described in Create and edit a service; this page focuses only on the package-specific logic.
When to use this page
- When you sell several services as one combined offer.
- When you want several services to be scheduled together.
- When price and duration should come from a combination of already existing services.
Before you start
- Make sure the services included in the package already exist.
- Verify they are assigned to the correct categories and locations.
How the package part is organised
For a package service, the most important block is "Services in package".
There you:
- choose which services are included in the package;
- set "Package price type" and "Package price" for each service;
- arrange the services in order;
- choose the "Package schedule type";
- see "Total duration" and "Total price".
How to create a package service
- Open "Services" -> "New service".
- Choose "Package service".
- Fill in the main service fields.
- In "Services in package", add at least 2 services.
- Reorder the services if needed.
- For each item in the package, set:
- "Package price type"
- "Package price", if the type is not free
- Choose "Package schedule type":
- "Sequential"
- "Parallel"
- Review the total duration and total price.
- Save the package.
What is different for package services
- you do not work with the standard employee list used for single and group services;
- you do not work with the standard pricing options;
- instead, the package is built from already existing services and their settings.
How pricing works in a package
For each included service you set:
- "Package price type"
- "Package price", if the type is not free
The total package price is calculated from the rows inside the package and shown below the list.
This is different from single and group services, where you work with separate pricing options.
How package scheduling works
- "Sequential" fits services that should happen one after another.
- "Parallel" fits services that should start at the same time.
In practice:
- with "Sequential", the total duration is accumulated from the services inside the package;
- with "Parallel", the total duration follows the longest service inside the package.
That is why the schedule type affects not only planning, but also how the package looks in terms of total duration.
When a package service is not the best choice
A package service is not the best choice when:
- you are actually selling one service with different variants;
- you need a group service with multiple participants, not a bundle of services;
- you only need different prices, without combining multiple services.
