Vouchers
Vouchers is the area where you create voucher products, sell them, and track the already issued codes. If the client should use the value later, the voucher can be loaded into their wallet.
This module is for vouchers sold to your clients. It is not related to Platform billing or the business wallet used for the platform itself.
This area is shown only when the business works with vouchers.
How the module is organized
The workflow is split into three main parts:
- Vouchers — the list of voucher products you sell;
- Issued vouchers — the vouchers that were already sold and have generated codes;
- Find voucher — search by voucher code.
Setting up a voucher product
When creating or editing a voucher, you typically define:
- location or All locations;
- name and description;
- sale price;
- wallet amount;
- tax;
- expiration mode:
- no expiration;
- days after issuance;
- fixed expiration date;
- terms;
- whether the voucher can be sold online;
- whether it is active.
If you do not set a specific tax on the voucher, the app can fall back to the business default tax for products. See Tax rates for the full rules.
Selling and issuing vouchers
Vouchers are sold through the standard Sale screen. You can start that flow:
- from the vouchers list with Sell voucher;
- from the client profile through the
Voucherstab and Sell voucher.
After the sale is saved, the system issues a voucher with its own code and keeps the link to the source sale. This matters later, because from the issued voucher you can open the sale and see who bought it.
Working with issued vouchers
The Issued vouchers list is the more operational view. There you can review:
- the code;
- which voucher product was sold;
- the purchaser;
- the current owner;
- the amount;
- the status.
From the voucher details you can:
- open the related sale;
- open the purchaser and the owner;
- copy the code;
- download a PDF;
- start claim or unclaim when that action is allowed.
Claim into client wallet
When a voucher is still valid and unused, it can be loaded into a client's wallet.
The typical flow is:
- open the issued voucher;
- choose Claim;
- select the client or work from the client profile;
- the amount is loaded into the client's wallet.
After that, the amount becomes available wallet balance for that client and can later be used as a payment method in Sale.
If you need to reverse that later, Unclaim removes the value from the client wallet, but only if the current wallet state still allows it.
The system can block claim or unclaim if, for example:
- the voucher is expired;
- the voucher is voided;
- the voucher is already claimed;
- the source sale no longer allows the action;
- the client wallet has been changed after the original claim.
What the statuses mean
- Active — the voucher is still valid and available for use;
- Claimed — the value has already been loaded into a client's wallet;
- Expired — the expiration has passed and the voucher can no longer be used;
- Voided — the voucher is blocked and should no longer be used.
