TV displays
The "Displays" screen turns a television in your venue into an information board: the group classes for the day or the week, how full the venue is right now, who is inside and your own banners. It works on any screen with a browser — you connect it with a code in seconds, with no computer.
Before you start
- "TV displays" is a paid feature, billed per screen — every display in your list counts, whether or not a television is connected to it yet. You add it to your plan from the "Features" section — see Plans.
- The employee needs the display permissions from their role: "View displays" for the list and "Create displays", "Edit displays", "Delete displays" for changes — see Roles and permissions.
- The "Group classes" panel shows only the group sessions from your calendar. One-to-one bookings are never shown.
- The "Occupancy" and "Who is inside" panels require you to record check-ins. If you do not record check-ins, these panels stay empty.
Creating a display
- Open Integrations and choose "Displays".
- Choose "New display".
- Fill in "Name" — only you see it; it is how you tell your screens apart in the list.
- Choose "Location" — the venue the screen hangs in. Panels show this venue's data unless a panel names another one itself.
- Pick a template under "Start from a template" — one click arranges the screens and panels, and you can change everything afterwards.
- Choose "Create". Right after creating, "Connect a screen" opens — you can connect the television straight away, or close the window and do it later from the display's menu.
The templates are ready-made arrangements for the most common cases:
- "Weekly classes" — the whole week of group classes;
- "Today's classes" — today's classes, the instructor and the free places;
- "Lobby — classes and occupancy" — two pages in rotation;
- "Adverts" — your own images, full screen;
- "Reception — behind the counter" — who is inside right now; it shows client names, so it is only for a screen customers cannot see.
Content: screens and panels
A display shows one or more screens that rotate. In the "Content" section:
- "Add screen" adds another screen to the rotation — up to four. "Seconds on screen" decides how long each one holds before the next.
- "Add panel" adds a panel to the screen — up to three. The panels split the screen by their count: one fills it, two sit side by side, three become one large and two stacked.
Panel types:
- "Group classes" — the group sessions from your calendar. "Period" picks the range: "Today", "The next few days" (with "How many days ahead"), "This week", "Next week", "This month" or "Next month". The time and the name of the class always show; under "What each class shows" you add "Instructor", "Free places", "Length", "Price" and "Accepted cards".
- "Occupancy" — how many people are inside right now, with no names. Set "Capacity" to also show a fill bar; leave it at zero to show the headcount alone.
- "Who is inside" — the people inside right now. "Sort order" decides who is at the top when more people are inside than fit. This panel shows client names.
- "Banner" — your own images, cycling. They are uploaded in the panel itself once the display has been saved, and "Seconds per banner" sets the pace.
Every panel has a "Panel heading" — leave it empty and the screen names the panel itself, in its own language. A panel can also point at another "Location" — so a screen in one venue can show what is on at another.
Appearance and language
The "Appearance" section decides how the board looks: colours, background (solid colour, gradient or an image with dimming), font and text size, panel style (cards or flat), rounded or square corners, a top bar with a logo and a clock, and a bottom line — a single line of text along the bottom, useful for the guest network or the opening hours.
The logo is uploaded under the display's own "Images" section; nothing is taken from your business profile. Uploading a background or a logo becomes available once the display has been saved.
"Board language" is separate from the language you work in — the screen faces your customers and can speak a different language.
Client and employee names
For the panels that show people, you choose how names appear:
- "Client names" — "First name and initial" or "Full name". The setting lives on the "Who is inside" panel, which always shows names — a headcount without names is what the "Occupancy" panel shows.
- "Employee names" — "No names" or "Full name". The setting lives on the "Group classes" panel, for example for the instructor.
The two settings are separate, so a lobby screen can name the instructor without naming the client. A display that shows client names is marked with "Shows client names" in the list. If such a screen can be seen by visitors, informing them is your responsibility.
Connecting a screen
- On the television, open tv.reservation.studio in the browser. The screen shows a pairing code.
- In the app, open "Displays", pick the display and choose "Connect a screen" from its menu.
- Type the code from the television and choose "Connect".
The screen switches to the board on its own, within a few seconds. The code changes every few minutes — if it stops working, read the new one off the screen.
The list shows every display's state: "Not connected", "Connected" right after pairing, then "Live" — or "Silent" if the screen has not checked in for more than a day.
What the screen does afterwards
- The board updates itself — a change in the classes, the check-ins or the settings appears on the wall without you touching the television.
- If the internet drops, the screen keeps the last data and shows "Offline — showing data from" with the time of the last update.
- If the feature drops out of your plan, the screen shows "This board is paused" until you add it back. A screen that is already connected does not go dark over a change in the count — that is checked when you create a new display.
Disconnecting
Choose "Disconnect" from the display's menu. The screen stops showing data and returns to its pairing code — you can connect it again at any time. "Delete" removes the display itself.
Common problems
- The panel says "No occupancy data. It requires you to record entries." — occupancy is counted from recorded check-ins. Start recording check-ins and the panel fills up.
- The schedule is empty — the panel shows group classes only. If the day has no group classes, you will see "No classes today".
- The code expired — the screen generates a new one by itself; type the new code.
- The board does not open on the television — it needs a modern browser. On much older televisions the built-in browser may not support the board; use a newer device with a browser connected to the same screen.
