Resources
Resources are rooms, devices, chairs, beds, and other equipment that must be available for a service to be performed. Add resources when a service depends not only on an employee, but also on limited physical capacity.
In the initial setup, think in two parts: first create "Resource types", then add the concrete resources to those types. After that, the service selects which resource type it needs.
When you need resources
- When you have a room, cabinet, or device shared by multiple employees.
- When you want to limit how many parallel bookings can use the same equipment.
- When availability should depend on a resource in addition to the employee.
What to do
- Open "Resources".
- Open "Resource types" and create the needed types, such as room, device, or chair.
- Select "New resource".
- Fill in the main details:
- "Name"
- "Resource type"
- "Description" if needed
- "Location"
- "Capacity"
- Set "Color" if needed.
- Turn on "Active resource".
- Save with "Create" or "Save".
- Open the services that use this resource and configure "Resources for this service".
What matters
- "Capacity" is the number of parallel bookings the resource can handle.
- A resource belongs to a specific location, so add it to the correct location.
- "Resource type" groups similar resources so the service can reserve the right kind of resource.
- If the resource is not active, it will not be useful in day-to-day work.
- Creating the resource alone is not enough. It starts affecting bookings only after it is linked to a service.
- In the service, choose "Resource only" or "Staff and resource" if booking must check for an available resource.
- In "Resources for this service", choose "Resource type", "Quantity", and whether to use "Any available resource" or "Only selected resources".
- If you enable "Clients can choose a specific resource online", the client can choose a concrete resource during online booking. If it is off, the system assigns an available resource automatically.
