Barcode/QR Scanner

This page is for scanning codes in Business when you want to quickly open the related client, membership, or appointment.

Where to open it​

The most common entry points are:

  • in desktop from the top menu through "Integrations" -> "Barcode/QR Scanner";
  • in mobile from the action menu through "Scan QR code".

What is different between desktop and mobile​

Desktop​

In desktop, "Barcode/QR Scanner" works as an on/off switch for the scanner.

When you turn it on:

  • the menu shows status on;
  • the system starts accepting scanned codes;
  • the selected state stays remembered until you turn it off again.

When you turn it off:

  • the menu shows status off;
  • the scanner stops handling codes.

Mobile​

In mobile, "Scan QR code" opens a separate camera scanning screen.

There:

  • you tap "Start scanning";
  • if needed, the system requests camera access;
  • if access is missing, you can use "Open settings".

Important:

  • camera scanning is available only in the mobile applications;
  • the browser and desktop app do not use this camera flow.

What kinds of codes are supported​

The scanner is most useful with QR codes generated by Reservation.Studio.

After a successful scan, the system can:

  • open an issued membership so you can verify an active membership;
  • open the client profile;
  • open the appointment for a specific appointment client for quick check-in on arrival.

The exact result depends on the content of the code.

How it works for appointments​

When the code belongs to a client in a specific appointment:

  • the system opens the appointment for that client;
  • this is useful for quick check-in when the client arrives;
  • from there, you can continue with the normal appointment actions.

If the appointment cannot be found, the system shows an error.

How it works for memberships​

When the code belongs to an issued membership:

  • the system opens that membership;
  • you can immediately check whether it is active and what its current state is.

How it works for clients​

When the code belongs to a client:

  • the system opens the client profile directly;
  • this is useful when you want fast access to that client's appointments, sales, or memberships.

What is important to know​

  • Use QR codes generated by Reservation.Studio.
  • If the code is invalid or unsupported, the scanner does not open a useful action.
  • In mobile, after a successful scan, the flow can continue with another scan without reopening the screen.
