NHIS (HIS BG)

The NHIS integration lets you prepare, open, close, and cancel electronic examinations, and search for existing examinations in NHIS.

Availability

  • NHIS fields and actions are shown only when the business has the NHIS feature active in its subscription.

What the integration actually includes

  • NHIS sections in Locations and Employees settings.
  • An E-Examination button in the appointment client row.
  • Search examinations in the desktop top menu.
  • Open exam, Close, Void, and Download outpatient sheet actions inside the examination workflow.

Required setup

  1. In Locations, set for each location:
  • Medical facility registration number according to the HIS register
  1. In Employees, set for each medical specialist:
  • UIN of the medical specialist
  • Specialty code

How this data is used

  • When you select a medical specialist and location in the NHIS examination, the system automatically pulls the UIN, specialty, and medical facility number from their settings.
  • If the examination role requires a substitute specialist, an additional substitute employee field is shown.

What happens when data is missing

  • If employee UIN or specialty is missing, NHIS examination submission cannot proceed.
  • If location medical facility registration number is missing, NHIS examination submission cannot proceed.

Where you work after setup

  • From the desktop top menu: Integrations -> HIS -> Search examinations.
  • From an appointment client row: E-Examination, when the integration is active and the client is not new.

Searching examinations in NHIS

  • You search by Identifier type, Identifier, Date, and Employee.
  • Results show the NRN and current status: Open, Closed, or Canceled.
  • This search is useful when you need to verify whether an examination already exists in NHIS for a given patient and date.

Working with E-Examination

  • The form is split into examination information, patient information, diagnosis, medical history, objective condition, therapy, and specialist information.
  • For a new examination, the system can prefill part of the patient data from the client's last NHIS examination.
  • In diagnosis, medical history, objective condition, and therapy text fields, you can reuse last used values from recent examinations.

Examination lifecycle

  • Save stores or updates the local examination record.
  • Open exam sends the examination to NHIS and returns an NRN and status.
  • Close closes an already opened examination in NHIS.
  • Void cancels an already opened examination and requires a cancellation reason.
  • Download outpatient sheet downloads a PDF outpatient sheet for the current examination.

Important when closing an examination

  • The examination must already be opened in NHIS.
  • Before Close, at least Medical history and Objective condition must be filled in.
  • If the examination is opened, the system shows the NRN and the current NHIS status.

Signing and access

  • NHIS requests rely on QES signing and desktop app environment.
  • When a new token is required, the system asks for issuing new access.

Limits

  • E-Examination is available only for an existing appointment client, not a new client.
  • E-Dental treatment is visible but disabled in the current UI.
  • There is no separate user-facing screen for managing NHIS tokens; token issuance happens when needed during the workflow.
