Working hours
This section defines when your business can accept bookings. Here you set the general working hours for locations, the monthly schedules for employees, and temporary exceptions through “Blocked time”.
How the section is organized
- By location sets the general frame in which a location operates.
- By employees sets the actual shifts by location and month.
- Blocked time is used for temporary exceptions for a location, employee, or resource.
Recommended order
- Configure working hours by location.
- If employees work in different shifts, configure working hours by employees.
- For breaks, absences, or one-off changes, add blocked time.
- If you accept online bookings, in the location settings choose "Use working schedule from" ->
LocationorEmployees.
How this affects online bookings
- If the location is set to "Use working schedule from" ->
Location, online slots follow the general working hours of the location. - If it is set to
Employees, online slots follow employee schedules for the selected location and month. - Blocked time can always reduce availability further.
- Rules for when the customer can submit an online request are configured separately in Day and time restrictions.
If a slot does not appear, check in this order
- are there working hours for the location;
- if the location uses "Use working schedule from" ->
Employees, is there a schedule for the employee in the correct month; - is there Blocked time for the location, employee, or resource;
- are the location and employee active;
- does the service require the resource and does that resource still have free capacity.
note
The “Outside working hours” setting in the Calendar only shows or hides extra hours in the view. It does not change availability.
When to use which page
- Use By location when you want to set the base working hours for one or more locations.
- Use By employees when individual employees have different shifts, different breaks, or a monthly schedule.
- Use Blocked time when you need to temporarily close hours or days for a location, employee, or resource without changing the main schedule.
Frequently asked questions
Where should I start?
Start with working hours by location. Then, if employees work in different shifts, configure their individual schedules.
What has priority for online bookings?
That depends on the “Use working schedule from” setting in the location. Blocked time can further remove available slots.
